PHPA - Supervisory training

Hypnotherapy supervision is essential for all new hypnotherapists during the first two years' of practice as you will receive constructive feedback to help you grow as an accomplished hypnotherapist, develop the necessary confidence and skills to move your practice forward.

Supervision provides an ideal opportunity to discuss past and present cases, to explore your approaches and whether these could have been carried out differently and your feelings about specific cases.

If you have problems with any client your supervisor should be your first point of contact to discuss your concerns in a confidential, supportive environment.

Your supervisor should be approachable and friendly and have the necessary skills and experience to help you.

It is recommended that new hypnotherapists have approximately 4 hours supervision in any 6 month period; this may take place via phone, video chat (i.e. Facetime, Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp) or in person.

Supervision counts toward your continued professional development and your hours should be logged and verified in case these are required for future reference.

Finding a Supervisor/Trainer

There are various trainers advertising on the internet so just try searching with your favourite search engine and see what comes up.
I searched for hypnotherapy supervisory trainers and got a myriad of sites and names displayed. Remember - always check the credentials of anyone claiming to be a qualified trainer.

You can find a list of trainers from Hypnotic World - and I am sure that a lot of other trainers will have their own lists.
